The Big Chase
By: Zackary Kocher
When the fields of gold cover your eyes;
To what lye beyond the tracks
And year-round fireworks fill the skies
To conceal the splendor that it lacks
The offered path is just one main street
Where dreams are taken at twenty miles per hour
Too afraid to sit in the drivers seat
A closer look from top the water tower
A glimpse reveals more outside the walls
A world with so much more
Listen closely to the voice that calls;
To the dreamers, “Now is your time to soar!”
Beginning to see all the beauty on the ground;
You question what was once just a confined dome
Deep within you the answer is found
Below is your love, your joy, your home
But now the road is yours, let all ambitions speed
Past parks you once played and the sign that welcomes, too
Grab you best boots, whatever you may need
And Chase what means most to you
